Candles Care Guide

Welcome to our Candle Care Guide!

Ensuring the longevity, safety, and optimal performance of your candles is key to enjoying their beauty and fragrance to the fullest. Here's everything you need to know:

Understanding Wick Memory:

First Burn is Crucial: The first time you light your candle, allow it to burn until the entire top layer of wax has melted to the edges of the container. This prevents "tunneling" where the wax only melts around the wick, leaving a ring of unused wax at the sides. This process can take several hours depending on the candle's size.

Preventing Tunneling: If you don't burn your candle long enough on the first use, it might remember this smaller melt pool, leading to inefficient burning in subsequent uses. Always aim for that full melt pool to ensure even wax consumption.

Trim the Wick: Before each burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This prevents the wick from becoming too long, which could cause the flame to become too large, leading to soot or an uneven burn.

Safety Precautions

Never Leave Unattended: Always keep an eye on your burning candle. Extinguish all candles before leaving a room or going to sleep.

Keep Away from Flammables: Ensure candles are placed away from anything that could catch fire - curtains, books, decor, etc. A minimum of three feet from flammable items is recommended.

Surface Stability: Place candles on stable, heat-resistant surfaces. Avoid burning candles on anything that could be damaged by heat or wax.

Draft-Free Environment: Burn candles in areas free from drafts, vents, or air currents to prevent uneven burning, dripping, or excessive smoking.

Out of Reach: Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets to avoid accidental burns or knocking over.

Extinguishing: Use a snuffer or gently dip the wick into the melted wax to extinguish the flame, then straighten it back up for the next burn. This minimizes smoke and soot.

Post-Burn Care:

Cool Down: Allow the candle to cool completely before moving or relighting.

Cleaning Spills: If wax spills, let it harden, then gently scrape off the excess. Use a hairdryer to soften any remaining wax for easier removal. Clean the area with warm, soapy water.

Storage: Store candles in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent color fading or fragrance loss.

Additional Tips:

Burn Duration: Don't burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time. This helps maintain the candle's integrity and promotes even burning.

Monitor the Container: If you notice the container getting too hot, extinguish the candle to allow it to cool down.

End of Life: When there's about 1/2 inch of wax left, it's time to stop burning to prevent the container from overheating or cracking.

By following these care and safety guidelines, you'll maximize the life of your candles while ensuring a safe, enjoyable experience. We hope these tips help you appreciate the art and luxury of candle burning safely and effectively.

Enjoy the glow, the scent, and the ambiance!
